Despoina obtained her 5-year Integrated Master’s degree in Biology at the University of Ioannina, Greece in 2023. During her final year she conducted her diploma thesis at the Biotechnology Laboratory at the University of Ioannina. The aim of her research project was the synthesis of a biographene-based nanobiocatalytic system for its application in food industry. ​
She joined the Nanomedicine Lab in February 2024 as a Vising Master student through the Erasmus+ program. The aim of her project is focused on the study of graphene oxide nanosheets as vectors of biologically active molecules for therapeutic applications.​
