Noelia obtained a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Spain, in 2018. During her Bachelor studies she conducted two summer internships, where she participated in the development of functionalised gold nanoparticles for the treatment of melanoma and the generation of liposomes using microfluidics. In her final year, she performed her final research project at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) and focused on the encapsulation of antibiotics in microfluidic-generated liposomes for the treatment of bacterial infections. In 2020, she completed her MSc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Universitat Ramón Llull – IQS School of Engineering in Barcelona (URL-IQS), and her master thesis was focused on the development of polymeric coatings for PBAE nanoparticles for targeted gene delivery to the brain.​
She joined the Nanomedicine Lab in March 2021 as a Research Assistant and her research project involved the preparation and physicochemical characterization of biological-grade graphene oxide sheets and its complexation with biologically active peptide molecules. Since September 2021 Noelia is a full-time PhD student at the Nanomedicine Lab, awarded the 4-year FPI Severo Ochoa PhD fellowship. Her current research is focused on engineering biomimetic lipid nanovesicles for cancer immunotherapy.​
